AJ (they/he) is a 2026 graduate of Texas State University, achieving their Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre Design. He graduated from Western Michigan University in 2023 with a BFA in Theatre Design and Technical Production, with an emphasis in Lighting Design.

AJ is one of the 2026 Hemsley Lighting Interns, and is working this summer with Paul Miller at Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and Rob Denton at The Muny in ST. Louis.

They were awarded the National Lighting Design Award at the American College Theater Festival for their design of Small Mouth Sounds in April 2025.

When not working on his next design, he enjoys reading a good book, watching movies, spending time with their cat, or adventuring to a new coffee shop.
